Local information and processing

Countability stores the financial entries and documents you choose to import in its local workspace on your device. Receipt recognition uses Apple's on-device frameworks. Countability does not send those documents to a remote OCR service and does not intentionally send accounts, transactions, receipts or imported documents to its advertising provider.

Files received through Share stay in a local inbox until you import them. Pending shared files are not included in a workspace backup until imported.

Advertising and consent

The free plan may show one Dashboard banner supplied by Google Mobile Ads. Google and its advertising partners may process device identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics and consent choices to deliver and measure ads under their policies and your available choices. Countability asks for consent information before requesting ads where required. Countability Premium does not request or display ads.

Sharing and device backups

You choose when and where to export or share files. Those files contain your financial information and are not password-protected. Your selected destination handles them under its own policies. Device backups may include app data according to your operating-system settings; that is not Countability cloud synchronization.

Permissions and access

The camera is used when you choose to scan a receipt. Photos and Files let you select documents. Camera permission can be changed in iOS Settings. Anyone able to unlock the device and open Countability can access its local workspace; this edition has no separate app lock.

Retention and removal

Voiding transactions and archiving accounts retain their records and original evidence. If your installed version offers the fresh-start feature, using it empties the active workspace but retains previous files for recovery; it is not secure erasure and does not reset Premium or the shared import inbox. Removing the app does not remove exports or copies in device/cloud backups; manage those copies separately with their providers.

Purchases

Countability Premium is a one-time purchase processed by Apple. It unlocks the monthly accountant ZIP and removes advertising. Countability does not receive your full payment-card details from Apple.
